From Kamlesh's Kitchen: Megha's Mom

Simplicity is what life is made of, and the best dishes are always the ones that are born out of the necessity to create. A dish from Megha's mom, Kamlesh's kitchen is called 'Malai Ki Subzi', and it is a dish born out of feeding her children something different with basic ingredients at home, during the lockdown.


Malai Ki Subzi


Jeera- whole 1/4 tsp

Tomato- half a katori, roughly chopped

Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp

Salt to taste

Red chilli powder (optional)

Fresh green coriander

Fresh milk cream- 1 cup

Oil for cooking


In a pan, heat oil.

Add jeera or cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter add chopped tomatoes, cover with lid and let them cook till they soften.

Add all the dry spices and wait for the oil to release

Once the masala is cooked, add the fresh cream and cook for some time.

The crack is to not let the cream melt.

That's it, the subzi is done to be served hot!
